KIDS ARE 1ST is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to protect children and educate families through our ID program, child passenger safety seat checks, and teen impairment/distracted driving tasks, that we conduct at our safety and health Events.

The mission of Kids Are 1st is to create awareness through education, services and safety events to keep children, teens and families safe. Kids Are 1st is working hard to reduce the number of injuries and deaths attributed to motor vehicle crashes, abductions and other sources of potential harm in Los Angeles County and surrounding areas.

Kids Are 1st provides child identification kits which include fingerprints and a photograph; one of the most important tools used by authorities to aid in the recovery of a missing person.

Renowned artist Lee Silton conducted a workshop and demonstration with talented students from South Los Angeles and as far as Glendale CA. The workshop was held at the Avalon Carver Community Center. The students created multiple pairs of earrings and were very sad to leave when the workshop ended. The earrings made perfect mothers day gifts. The children showed great creativity.

3 car seats that saved the lives of 3 children

HERE'S THE PROBLEM: When newborns are released from Los Angeles area hospitals, many are not properly restrained in child passenger safety seats. The uncertified hospital staff members are not allowed to install the seat or restrain the infant. This can result in infants being put in harms way.

Kids Are 1st certified car seat technicians provides a safe and properly installed car seat and restrains the child correctly. Kids Are 1st needs funds to purchase new car seats, train more technicians to become certified and conduct child passenger safety seat check events. This will result in helping to save lives and reduce injuries to children.

Your donations will help KIDS ARE 1ST provide life saving solutions to a serious problem. Child passenger safety seats are effective only if a proper seat is used and the child is correctly restrained. The alarming statistics are that 9 of 10 children are not restrained properly while a passenger in motor vehicles .
